Our Company |
CJCarriages purpose is to provide the greater Dayton metro area with the highest quality in horse drawn vehicles. Our vehicles and horses are exceptionally clean. The vehicles are washed, decorated with faux greenery, beautiful ribbons to color coordinate with the event or season. For weddings we have a "Just Married" sign and for Christmas we add white lights to the decor. We add beauty and elegance to our horses with mane rolls and flowers. Music of your choice can be played on our built in CD stereo system. |

Our Drivers |
Heather Scott is one of the drivers as well as the owner of CJCarriages. She has worked around horses all of her life. She started as a child riding western pleasure, and as an adult, Heather enjoys riding dressage and occasionally the hunter/jumper. She has several years experience driving horses on the roadways for other carriage companies as well as farming with horses in the fields. Heather can drive a single horse, two horse, three across, and four up. Her latest accomplishment includes being the "Time Fly's" teamster coordinator for the daily horse drawn parade. This event was held at Carillon Historical Park during the "Inventing Flight Celebration" during July 2003 . |

Beth Medlock is a major part of CJCarriages. She has worked around horses since she was young. She has managed a Hunter/Jumper facility, where she also gave riding lessons. She owns a thoroughbred that she rides dressage on and is currently training to be a backup carriage horse. Beth has apprenticed under Heather and has completed her driver training. She is qualified to drive a single horse and a pair of horses on city streets. |

Our Horses |
CJCarriages currently has a team of black Percheron geldings and a black Percheron mare. The Percheron is a breed of Draft Horse that originated in France. Gabriel, Ziek and Belle were raised and trained by the Amish community in north-eastern Ohio. Now they are part of our family. They have wonderful stalls that are cleaned daily, and a large pasture for them to play in every night. We provide regular veterinarian, dental, and farrier checkups to insure their good health. They are traffic safe and very people oriented, especially around children. Their favorite treat is peppermint candy, however for your safety we do not allow them to receive treats while they are working. We are more then willing to spoil them with your generosity after their work is done for the day. Gabriel, Ziek and Belle are our children and we treat them that way. |
